Fire sprinkler advocates gather for brainstorming, networking at NFPA summit
By Mike Hazell Educating the fire service, opposition from homebuilders, effective coaliton-building, resources…just some of the topics discussed on the first day of NFPA’s Fire Sprinkler Initiative Summit being held in Quincy, MA. About 70 advocates, representing the fire service, the medical community, the insurance industry, developers, authorities having jurisdiction, and others have gathered to network, brainstorm ideas, and share best practices on how to move toward sprinkler requirements in all new one- and two-family homes.
