Disaster-ready homes equipped with sprinklers underscored at recent builders’ show

By Fred Durso, Jr. Amid the number of products displayed at the recent International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas, a theme had emerged: protecting homes from all types of disasters is becoming easier and more affordable. “It’s like a perfect storm” of better consumer information … and a growing supply of products, Leslie Chapman-Henderson with the Federal Alliance for Safe Homes, Inc., told The Wall Street Journal. The alliance is a nonprofit aimed at strengthening homes and safeguarding families from natural and man-made disasters via partnerships with the public and private sector.
