About Videos

“Education is evolving due to the impact of the Internet. We cannot teach our students in the same manner in which we were taught. Change is necessary to engage students not in the curriculum we are responsible for teaching, but in school. Period”
– April Chamberlain

Times have changed and we must change with it if we are to be successful. Today the volume of information available is indeed profound. The challenge is having  the time to digest it and process it’s meaning, to challenge the message and to test it’s value. Video helps in this process.

While more expensive to produce and edit video has a significant ability to convey a message. The challenge is maintaining the interest of the viewer. The following videos were produced with this in mind.

About Mike’s Library

“I was bold in the pursuit of knowledge, never fearing to follow truth and reason to whatever results they led, and bearding every authority which stood in their way.”
– Thomas Jefferson

You can access my own collection of documents that I have used in much of my research in Mike’s Library. However, it is by no means all inclusive. I present it here in the hope that others may find it of use in their own research. Some of these documents can be downloaded. Others are referenced. Yet others you will have to purchase or search out on the Internet.

While the Internet is an amazing research too, not everything on the Internet is true nor does it always pass critical analysis. In other words, nothing beats a good personal library.

About Articles

“The man who does not read has no advantage over the man who cannot read”
– Mark Twain

The following published articles appeared in various publications including The California Fire Service Magazine and the Santa Barbara News-Press, as well as many newsletters. Some are issue specific while others are designed to be thought provoking. The intent is not to just be provocative, but to cultivate discussion on the complex issues confronting us today. You can also locate many other documents of interest in Mike’s Library.
