Remembering When workshop is featured at conference

State fire marshal Steven Coan spoke about the importance of the Senior Safe Program in helping older adults live safely in their homes.

Hundreds of fire and life safety educators, primarily from the Northeast, have convened in Westford, Massachusetts, for the 20e Annual Fire and Life Safety Education Conference.

Hosted by the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services, the conference, “Destination SAFE: Fire and Life Safety for All Ages,” features dozens of workshops, among them, “Remembering When: A Fire and Fall Prevention Program for Older Adults or Looking in the Rear View Mirror,” presented by NFPA Public Education Senior Project Manager Karen Berard-Reed and Public Education Advisor Antiliano Estrella. The workshop provided an introduction to Remembering When.

The conference continues through tomorrow.

Michael S. Williams

Williams a fondé l'Institut de formation des services d'incendie en 1995 pour trouver des solutions aux défis auxquels est confronté le service de pompiers volontaires. Williams has been a member of the California State Board of Fire Services since 2008. Prior to becoming involved in the volunteer fire service, Williams was a California police officer for 12 ½ years and a POST certified Field Training Officer. He is a licensed private investigator and security consultant specializing in self-insured, government and insurance defense assignments.
