In a state requiring home fire sprinklers, fire chief underscores how systems are saving lives

By Fred Durso, Jr. California is one of two states requiring sprinklers in new dwellings, and a recent sprinkler operation in Rancho Sante Fe illuminates the many benefits of these installations. A news item in the recent issue of Fire Protection Contractor Magazine (which originally appeared on the Rancho Santa Fe Review website) highlights what occurred when the Rancho Santa Fe Fire Protection District arrived at the scene of a fire at a sprinklered home. Michael S. Williams

Williams a fondé l'Institut de formation des services d'incendie en 1995 pour trouver des solutions aux défis auxquels est confronté le service de pompiers volontaires. Williams has been a member of the California State Board of Fire Services since 2008. Prior to becoming involved in the volunteer fire service, Williams was a California police officer for 12 ½ years and a POST certified Field Training Officer. He is a licensed private investigator and security consultant specializing in self-insured, government and insurance defense assignments.
