Home fire sprinkler opponents fight new law in Minnesota

By Fred Durso, Jr. Days after a new law went into effect in Minnesota that requires sprinklers in new homes of a certain size, the opposition has responded. News reports are filtering in that the Builders Association of the Twin Cities has asked a court to delay implementation, citing exorbitant installation costs. The association’s action comes at a time when fires are wreaking havoc in Minnesota; according to an ABC affiliate, there have already been five fire deaths in the state during January.
