Focus on older adults presents opportunities for Remembering When program

title

By Lisa Braxton

You might notice some extra activity this week at your local parks, shopping malls, YMCA’s, health clubs, and senior centers. Today marks the beginning of Active Aging Week, the annual health promotion led by the International Council on Active Aging®.

From September 21 to 27, host organizations throughout North America offer activities and events that are low cost to free, with the goal of giving older adults the means of experiencing classes, workshops, recreational activities, and exercises in a safe, friendly, and fun atmosphere.

A presentation on NFPA’s Remembering When program would be a fitting addition to an Active Aging Week event or could be a stand-alone activity. All of the materials are available for free on the NFPA website.
