Father makes emotional plea for sprinkler bill following daughter’s fire death

The Connecticut resident said an emotional goodbye to his 21-year-old daughter, Eva, in January 2012 after she and two others died in an off-campus house fire near Marist College in New York. A vibrant collegiate with a penchant for dancing and reading, Eva’s zest for life was remembered at her funeral. “She wouldn’t want us to be sad,” Block told a Connecticut newspaper in 2012.
